Bartolomé Cervantes de Valladolid is a young boy living with his family outside of Valladolid. It is the mid 1500s and Bartolomé is frustrated with his family’s farming life. He wants to run away and become an actor in the city. An unfortunate series of events ultimately gives him what he wants, but at a great cost. He has to learn, the hard way, about what really matters in life and how to help others first instead of helping himself.
